Hey guys, I just started contributing to a blog called Periodic Heroes. Each week me and a few other artists are going to be posting our own interpretations of a different comic book character. This is the first week and we’re doing The Watchmen:

Please go check it out! We’ll be updating every Monday!

I’ve made yet another Wikipedia of Unusual Deaths comic for Josh Blair’s quarterly minicomic anthology, Candy or Medicine. It won’t come out until the summer issue, but while we wait for that very exciting day I thought we’d play a little game. I’m going to give you one panel from the story and you’re going to guess which Unusual Death it’s from! We’ve done this before! The first person to guess correctly wins pride and honor.

What is that? you may be asking yourself. Why it’s a terrible celebrity portrait by yours truly! And that’s alright! Because my gross inability to render likenesses with any accuracy just adds to the mystery of the game. Happy guessing!
In other slightly related news, I found to my surprise today that SPAZ! #3 appears on Josh Blair’s Top Ten Minicomics of 2010 list! I feel honored to have my name on a list with so many other talented artists – including Minty Lewis and Noah Van Sciver, two artists whose work I personally enjoy very, very much. So thanks, Josh!
While you wait for the issue with my story in it to come out, I encourage you to check out other issues of Candy or Medicine, available for purchase on the website! Lots of good stuff.

You might notice a new link at the top of the page! This will lead you to the new press page. This is a page where links to all of my reviews will be collected so they are all conveniently in one place. Obviously there aren’t a whole lot of links there yet, but hopefully they will accumulate over time. The links that are there have some pretty nice things to say about my work, so check them out!
You might also notice a link to a new review! This one is up on Comicsgirl, just a short review of SPAZ! #3 that I enjoyed reading very much, mostly because of the phrase “…she’s like a younger, more vulgar version of Cathy, and I mean that as a compliment.”
I’m pretty sure that’s one of the more awesome things anyone has ever said about me.

Today I spent some time adding a few excerpts from SPAZ! #1-3 to the More Art page – so check it out! I’ve also set up a Deviant Art account, with even more pages from the minicomics, some of my collage work, and soon I’ll start updating it with work I’m doing for class here at SCAD!

Matthew Murray over at 365 Zines posted a new review for SPAZ! #3 yesterday. For the most part, it’s pretty complimentary and I’m happy with it. I’m also happy to see he went through the effort of scanning certain bits he especially liked. I love when reviewers do this and it’s always interesting to see what their favorite parts were.

I highly recommend you check out Murray’s site, 365 Zines, if you want to find out about all kinds of other minicomics and zines every day.
